A "virtual travel" within the walls of my house, documenting the stillness of people in lockdown all around the world during the age of pandemic Covid19, providing an insight into the spectrum of individual spaces and experiences. I entered stranger’s houses through a video call, met their families and ultimately gave dispositions to set up the frame for a portrait. Through this project, I intended to investigate the concept of limit as a confining line, subjective space as well as its arbitrary nature, through an intimate and emotional process. A country, a city, a house: their existence is defined by their boundaries. Boundaries are, in turn, being redefined. We move inside those spaces that somehow define who we are, who we are not. A limit usually implies the presence of a restriction to respect, an obstacle to overcome or an enemy to defeat. The historical time that we are living in is emblematic in showing how limits can be extremely tangible, as much as they can manifest in pure abstraction. It’s within those limits that we define freedom, and amidst them we navigate to find our place.
